NYPD Psychologist From Yonkers Pleads Guilty To Shooting Husband In HeadA 48-year-old Westchester resident and former New York Police Department psychologist pleaded guilty Friday in the 2013 shooting of her husband. At approximately 4 a.m. on Nov, 14, 2013 police and EMS were called after the victim, Kenneth Dearden, woke up with a pain on the left side of his head, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said. He was then taken to the hospital where they determined that he had been shot in the head and then transferred to a trauma center. He spent approximately eight days at Westchester Medical Center where he underwent surgery to remove a .22 caliber bullet from his jaw. At the time the shot was fired, the couple’s children were sleeping only a few feet away, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said.
