JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A state of emergency has been declared in Hinds County by supervisors concerning the water outage. This will be sent to the Governor's office for approval. The Hinds County Board of Supervisors voted to issue this emergency declaration to authorize possible emergency purchases, like water, during the current water repairs. A major water line repair in Jackson is coming in March. This is preparation for the repair. Hinds EOC Director, Ricky Moore will oversee the storage of water and emergency supplies.
