CENTRAL CITY — A 24-year-old Columbus woman accused of stealing nearly $90,000 from her Silver Creek employer is set for a felony first appearance hearing March 1 in Merrick County Court. Chelsea Aldrich, who had not yet been formally charged Wednesday by the Merrick County Attorney’s Office, was arrested Friday on suspicion of theft and first-degree forgery in connection with 32 bogus checks written on the bank account of Agroservice Inc. in Silver Creek. The forged checks, written from Aug. 1 to Jan. 31, totaled $89,988.05. Aldrich was released from custody at the Hall County Jail after posting a $100,000 bond, 10 percent allowed for release.
