Senate officials left open the possibility Wednesday that individual senators could bring a possible removal vote against Kathleen Kane despite its special committee's recommendations. That committee recommended a vote to remove Kane only if the state Supreme Court rules against the attorney general's emergency law license reinstatement or fails to hear the case. But the Senate counsel's reading of the Constitutional provision could still allow for a floor vote. "We believe, through counsel, that any senator from here on can ask this matter to be considered by the Senate rather than have this drag on," said Sen. John Gordner, R-Columbia County. But Gordner, who chaired the panel that made the recommendations, said he would not be the one to try to undermine the panel's decision.
