A further sign of tech discontent with Trump with new billboard
REDWOOD CITY – Bay Area resistance to President Donald Trump has taken a new form — black and white billboards posted along the busiest highways.
A second anti-Trump sign, this one aimed at tech developers, went up this week along Highway 101 north in Redwood City. The sign reads, “DEVS: Tech is hiring. Why work for a collaborator?” It carries a red “resist” tag and is sponsored by Action Media, Inc. No one has come forward publicly to take credit for the signs.
Some tech leaders — including entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel and Tesla CEO Elon Musk — have drawn criticism for advising the Republican president. Trump’s position on curbing immigration runs counter to tech companies desire to allow more high-skilled engineers and innovators into Silicon Valley.
The anonymous campaign posted its first sign along Interstate 280 in Milpitas, near the Tesla factory, earlier this month. An electronic billboard asked Musk to “Please Dump Trump.” The sign has been taken down.
