PELLA, IA. — Gov. Chris Christie on Friday blamed New Jersey for his 'C' gun rights rating from the National Rifle Association. "I haven't gotten many 'Cs' in my life, so I'm not happy about it," said Christie, responding to a woman during a town hall at Central College as he campaigned for president. "But: For this one? It's a 'C' for my state. I don't think a 'C' for me." A spokesman for the NRA, Lars Dalseide, said while it's true New Jersey has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, the letter grades issued by the NRA's Political Victory Fund are "based on the person, not their state" and reflect "their performance for that election."
