Verdict in Pa. boy's wrongful death case against doctor, hospitalA 15-year-old budding basketball star's death in Northampton County, Pa., cannot be blamed on negligence on the part of the Easton Hospital emergency room doctor who treated him for asthma, nor the hospital that employed the doctor on his first day in the ER. Our sister website, LeighValleyLive.com, reports that a Northampton County jury deliberated about an hour and a half Thursday before clearing Dr. Chiraag Gupta and Easton Hospital of any wrongdoing in the death of 15-year-old Lewis Ogioba. The boy's family had argued that were it not for the "apathetic, arrogant and negligent" doctor, their son would be alive today. However, attorneys for the hospital and the doctor countered in court that Gupta acted appropriately given the circumstances.
