Ricketts signs bill creating 'Choose Life' specialty license plates
LINCOLN — Gov. Pete Ricketts signed a bill into law Wednesday to create “Choose Life” specialty license plates.
Ricketts called passage of Legislative Bill 46 a “momentous” occasion for people who want to protect innocent life in Nebraska.
He said the plates will raise awareness of life issues. The plates use a slogan identified with opposition to abortion.
LB 46, introduced by State Sen. Dan Watermeier of Syracuse, represents the first piece of anti-abortion legislation to pass in the state since 2011, when Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha returned to the body.
