After Gov. Matt Bevin threw the gauntlet down on Planned Parenthood’s clinic in Louisville the night before, the Republican Senate majority celebrated a victory Friday as one of its priority pro-life bills could be the first session bill signed into law as early as next week. An emergency House committee meeting late Thursday afternoon in one of the House Democrat leadership’s offices, led to the historical moment for pro-life advocates as the House passed Republican Sen. Julie Raque Adams’, (R-Louisville) bill requiring a face-to-face consultation with a medical professional 24 hours before a woman undergoes an abortion procedure. The House added an amendment to the bill allowing for a Telehealth consultation between a physician and a woman. Republican Senate Majority Leader Damon Thayer of Georgetown announced on the Senate floor Friday that it has been “12 years since a pro-life bill has made it through the House of Representatives and back to us for concurrence,” and that the bill would be voted on Monday to send to Gov.
