MERRIMACK -- John Kasich, with the first primary state to himself as his Republican presidential rivals hotfooted around Iowa, aimed to make a case for his electability with a double dose of policy and philosophy. “We're here for a moment in time,” he said at the Merrimack VFW on Saturday. “We're here but for a breath and our job here is to make this world a better place. This isn't some political rhetoric.” Kasich held three town hall meetings Saturday, has another two today and continues the push Monday. By week's end, he will have held more than 100 town hall meetings in the state this primary season. As the Ohio governor works to break out of a crowded GOP field led by Donald Trump, he promised voters that some of the country's biggest problems are fixable.
