A conservative advocacy group has purchased six figures’ worth of television advertising in this spring’s state Supreme Court race, according to Federal Communications Commission records. The Wisconsin Alliance for Reform bought at least $153,215 in so-called “issue advocacy” ads to run on broadcast stations ahead of the Feb. 16 primary, according to FCC reports. Liberal advocacy group One Wisconsin Now, which tracks media buys, said on Friday that the total amount, including ads purchased for cable stations, is far higher, although that could not be independently confirmed.
