Georgia Supreme Court affirms Augusta murder conviction in fatal drive-by shootingA man convicted of murder in an Augusta fatal drive-by shooting was fairly tried and convicted, the Georgia Supreme Court has ruled. In an opinion released Monday, the court found no error in the February 2012 Richmond County Superior Court trial of Brandon White, 26. White was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison plus five years for the Sept. 17, 2010, slaying of Damion A. Collier, 26. According to court testimony, White and two friends were gunning for another person when Collier was shot on Second Avenue. Johnny Thibodeaux and Carron A. Winfrey each pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault. Each man was sentenced in June 2012 to serve three years in prison followed by seven years probation. chronicle.augusta.com/news/crime-courts/2016-02-01/georgia-supreme-court-affirms-augusta-murder-conviction-fatal-drive?v=1454330489
