SANFORD — Hundreds of teachers and others protested at the Seminole County School Board meeting Tuesday night, asking for better pay for employees and taking issue with the district's decision to declare an impasse in contract negotiations with the four employee unions. Board members didn't address the employees' complaints during the meeting. When approached after the meeting, board members declined to comment, saying it was "against the law" for them to do so. "I've advised them not to comment," school board attorney Serita Beamon said, though she refused to say whether she thinks it's against the law.
