ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Once a judge, now a felon. Juanita Roibal-Bradley, a former New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administrative Law Judge, admitted in federal court Tuesday that she siphoned more than a half-million dollars from an estate – after she’d been disbarred by the New Mexico Supreme Court. Roibal-Bradley, 60, of Albuquerque, also pleaded guilty to defrauding the Social Security Administration of more than $40,000 by receiving disability benefits. Those were based on a disability that kept her from working while she actually was still working as a mediator and supervising attorney at the Workers Compensation Administration. The plea agreement included guilty pleas to 12 counts of wire fraud from defrauding an estate and its three beneficiaries of almost $572,000. In the plea, she also admits trying to deter one of the beneficiaries from alerting authorities during a June 2013 phone call by telling him she was authorized to invest the funds and had done so.
