Clackamas County denies wrongdoing in sex abuse investigation that led to $7.5 million suitClackamas County denies any wrongdoing in the criminal investigation of a former professional soccer player and coach whose child sex abuse trial ended with a swift dismissal. In a written response to a $7.5 million lawsuit from Joseph Leonetti, the county says no laws were broken in the 2013 investigation by sheriff's detectives Patrick Bray and Lisa Shipley, and sergeants Anthony Kollias and Clint Pierce. The county contends in court documents that Leonetti and his family aren't entitled to any compensation. Leonetti is alleging false arrest, malicious prosecution and denial of his constitutional rights in the lawsuit, which was first filed in Clackamas County Circuit Court before being moved to U.S. District Court last month. In 2013, Leonetti was accused of groping a 13-year-old friend of his daughter's during sleepovers at his family's Oregon City home. The teen is the daughter of a Clackamas County sheriff's deputy and played on a soccer team Leonetti coached.
