Monsanto announces $140 million project to make Lubbock its U.S. cotton seed hub
Monsanto announced a $140 million capital investment in Lubbock to make the city its primary U.S. hub for cotton seed processing.
The announcement came during a news conference hosted Wednesday afternoon by the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance.
The company will create 40 full time jobs and 15 to 25 part-time jobs to operate out of a new facility, according to a statement from LEDA.
The facility will include cleaning, treating and bagging of their Delta Pine brand cotton seed.
