On presidential campaign trail, former Gov. Jim Gilmore turns his attention to the Puppy Bowl Gilmore - or, more likely, one of his staffers - made the request on Facebook on Saturday afternoon, hours before his Republican competitors took the stage for the latest GOP debate. New Hampshire's primary is Tuesday. Puppy Bowl XII airs at 3 p.m. Sunday on Animal Planet. The show, which began more than a decade ago as a counterpoint to football's biggest game, features puppies running around a miniature "stadium." (Cuteness ensues.) Gilmore, 66, received votes from 12 Iowans in Monday's caucus. In a phone interview with The Virginian-Pilot several days ago, he said he's not giving up his long-shot bid and he's "starting the campaign in New Hampshire where I am right now."
