WANTAGE – A former Montague and Sandyston township attorney who resigned amid a sexual harassment allegations last month is facing new legal troubles.
Michael S. Garofalo was arrested at his Wantage home on Jan. 31 in what state police are calling a "domestic incident", according to the New Jersey Herald. He was charged with assault and criminal mischief, though specifics details of the confrontation have not been made public.
The arrest came just three days after Garofalo left his jobs with Montague and Sandyston, as news that the State Office of Attorney Ethics was investigating claims by two women that he sexually harassed them using his town email accounts.
