They call it the Democratic Party, but the existence of superdelegates is most undemocratic.

By that logic, the entire election system could be considered as being undemocratic including caucuses. In Iowa a candidate was able to be awarded a delegate one they met a minimum threshold. For precincts that had only two delegates each of the major candidates received one delegate whether the vote was split 25%-75% or 50% each.
While the superdelegate process favors establishment politicians, it is still far preferable to the smoke-filled rooms of party leaders that existed prior to the 1972 Democratic primaries.
