CHERRY HILL TWP. — A township church said its "Black Lives Matter" banner was stolen earlier this week ahead of a scheduled community discussion to address the topic. The banner, which hung at Unitarian Universal Church, was reported missing on Tuesday. In a Facebook post, the church said the banner that hung for three weeks near Kings Highway had the cords supporting it cut. "We had a couple of non-positive interactions with folks," Rev. Christian Schmidt said Thursday. "I was happy to see people interacting, honestly." In photos from Feb. 9, cut cords are seen wrapped around the wooden frame that supported the orange and black banner which read, "Black Lives Matter. Join the Discussion Here."
