Kentuckians wanting to control government funding for agencies like Planned Parenthood may have to wait a bit longer as the Senate bill addressing the issue makes it through the House, and if it does, the issue by then could be a moot point. Unlike the Senate’s informed consent pro-life bill, which passed readily on the House floor, Sen. Max Wise’s (R-Campbellsville) bill to have government funds go through a three-tiered system giving Planned Parenthood the least of Title X funds has stalled in the House. On Tuesday, House Republicans attempted to suspend the rules of the House and force a vote on the bill. Rep. Stan Lee (R-Lexington) went so far as to say that agencies like Planned Parenthood operated from the pit of hell, but House Democrats quickly put the vitriol on ice by not passing the motion and possibly placed a cherry on top — amendments to the bill.
