A former NYPD cop was sentenced to two-to-six years in prison on Monday for auto insurance fraud incidents, the state Attorney General’s office said. Jose Urena, 33, formerly of the 25th Precinct, took a plea deal in August, admitting to insurance fraud and scheme to defraud, which he committed to avoid paying for expensive cars he had. In 2013, he staged an accident involving a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550. The year before on a different model Mercedes, he falsely reported that it had been vandalized.
