A 43-year-old Helena man faces two charges of deliberate homicide after police say he killed two brothers in a Helena apartment building.
Prosecutors also filed a felony charge of assault with a weapon against Tilmon R. Nungesser IV, who allegedly threatened another neighbor with the same shotgun authorities believe he used to slay the two men.
Nungesser is accused of fatally shooting Robert Alan Mishler, 40, and William Andrew Mishler, 42, on Saturday night just after 9 p.m.
Nungesser is in jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Court documents say Nungesser told investigators he took his shotgun to confront two men who lived in the apartment above his, and he went there with the intent to shoot them. He then admitted to shooting both men, the arresting officer wrote.
