Judge dismisses final count against city auditor in $10.7 million civil suit
A Richmond Circuit Court judge has dismissed the city’s auditor from the surviving count of a $10.7 million lawsuit former Richmond administrator Sharon Judkins filed against him after her turbulent departure from City Hall.
The city of Richmond remains a party to the suit. Judge Bradley B. Cavedo announced his decision Monday and said he would review the remaining count against the city.
“I was confident that this would be dismissed,” Auditor Umesh Dalal said Tuesday. “I did not feel that there were merits to this case.”
It was the second time Dalal walked out of the courtroom believing the matter had been resolved. Dalal and his lawyer, Stanley Barr, thought Cavedo had dismissed the case against Dalal during a November hearing in which the judge had granted a motion for summary judgment.
