Five bills signed into law Friday will make it easier for veterans and service members to obtain college credit for skills they learned in the military, qualify dependents for in-state tuition, get an edge in obtaining state contracts for their businesses, and help fund veterans cemeteries throughout the state. One of the measures also establishes new awards to recognize accomplishments of those who serve in the New Mexico National Guard or State Defense Force. About 130 Guard members, veterans and others were on hand at American Legion Post 49 on East Central on Friday morning as Gov.
