In the span of mere hours Tuesday, they passed a bill to block Brownback from any efforts to demolish the Docking State Office Building. In Topeka’s municipal government, city manager Jim Colson faces scrutiny over his decision to bring on an interim fire chief he personally knows through a mechanism that didn’t require approval or notification of the city council.
