Baltimore police officer dragged by vehicle during traffic stopA Baltimore police officer was dragged alongside a vehicle after a traffic stop Tuesday morning, a department spokesman said. The officer was conducting a traffic stop at about 9:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Mount Royal Ave., when "at some point, the officer got attached to the vehicle and was dragged a couple hundred feet," police spokesman Donny Moses said. The silver Acura CL sped off, Moses said. The officer was able call for back up, and medics responded and took him to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was in serious but stable condition, Moses said. The officer was discharged later Tuesday from Shock Trauma, the department said in a statement. He said he did not know what prompted the traffic stop as the officer had not yet been interviewed. He said it also remains unclear how the officer became attached to the vehicle. Read more: www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/bs-md-ci-traffic-stop-20160301-story.html
