SANTA FE - New Mexico Health Department Secretary Retta Ward died Thursday after a single-car crash that may have been linked to a medical episode, authorities say. Deputies went to the scene on Santa Fe’s northern edge and determined that Ward car’s left the roadway and stopped at an embankment. She didn’t have any injuries, leading deputies to believe she may have died as the result of an unspecific medical issue, the Santa Fe County sheriff’s department said. Ward, 62, was rushed to a Santa Fe hospital, where personnel were not able to revive her. “She was an amazing public servant who enjoyed her job immensely and earned the respect of her fellow colleagues,” Gov.
