OKLAHOMA CITY — As abortion rates continue to decline nationally, Oklahoma has seen an even larger decrease in recent years as the Republican-controlled Legislature has imposed a variety of pro-life bills. Since 2006, abortions in Oklahoma have decreased by 34 percent as new laws have been enacted restricting abortions and some clinics have shut their doors. Anti-abortion lawmakers say legislation has led to fewer abortions, while opponents claim a variety of factors are at play.
