Clinton tells FAMU students election about 'your future'
Former President Bill Clinton made a primary eve swing through Tallahassee on Monday, urging students at Florida A&M University to get to the polls and vote for his wife, Hillary Clinton.
“The election’s tomorrow,” he said. “I came here more than anything else to ask you to be sure and vote and to say that every election ought to be about the future. Hillary wants this to be about your future."
Clinton told a crowd at the Tookes Recreation Center his wife would build on progress made under President Obama. Recapping Obama’s last state of the union speech, he said that while the country faces problems, people should feel optimistic about the future.
“We have 14 million new jobs over the last five years — that’s the most we’ve had since that other Democrat, whatever his name was,” he joked. “And we have 90 percent of our people with health insurance for the first time.”
