The city of Seattle has opened a neighborhood office to offer support and services to businesses and residents affected by last week’s Greenwood explosion. The Greenwood Recovery Office is at Works Progress, 115 N. 85th St., Suite 202, according to the city’s Department of Neighborhoods. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Saturday, until March 25, and can be reached at 206-396-2788 during regular business hours. The March 9 natural-gas explosion leveled two buildings and destroyed Neptune Coffee, Mr. Gyros and a Quick Stop convenience store. G&O Family Cyclery was heavily damaged. Dozens of other businesses sustained damage, ranging from broken windows to collapsed ceilings. Damage to the destroyed buildings is estimated at $3 million.
