Two years ago, the Legislature ordered the state Education Department to develop English and math standards to replace “Common Core.” Now, some lawmakers don't like the proposed replacement and say this should be rejected, too. The Oklahoma Legislature will take up bills next week that would order revisions in the proposal. State Rep. Jason Nelson, R-Oklahoma City, said it's not a matter of asking the department to go back to the drawing board, but more in the realm of tweaks and editing changes.
