A North Carolina man was arrested this week after calling U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal's Hartford office and threatening to "shoot his … brains out." Rowland Edwin Dodge Jr., 62, of Matthews, N.C., was charged Tuesday by the FBI with threatening a federal official. Dodge called Blumenthal's office about noon on March 9 and asked to speak to the senator, according to a criminal complaint. Blumenthal that if he raises my taxes one cent, just one penny, that I will kill [him]. I will shoot his … brains out." Dodge hung up and the intern reported the call to U.S. Capitol Police.
