Democrats and Republicans running for Baltimore mayor and U.S. Senate will meet in debates next week sponsored by The Baltimore Sun, WJZ, University of Baltimore and Baltimore City League of Women Voters. All debates will be held at the university's H. Mebane Turner Learning Commons at 1415 Maryland Avenue. Tickets for some debates are available at ubalt.edu. Tuesday•Former Mayor Sheila Dixon, lawyer Elizabeth Embry, City Councilmen Nicky Mosby and Carl Stokes, state Sen. Catherine Pugh and businessman David Warnock — the top six Democratic contenders for mayor, as determined by independent public polling — have been invited to debate from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets are no longer available. WJZ-TV will broadcast the debate at 7 p.m. on its digital channels (Comcast channel 201, Verizon Fios channel 483 and channel 13.2 for digital antenna users). The debate will also be streamed on baltimoresun.com and CBSbaltimore.com. •Attorney Richard Douglass, attorney Chrys Kefalas and Del.
