A judge has dismissed a lawsuit brought by a former Duquesne constable who was acquitted on federal drug charges five years ago. U.S. District Judge David Cercone ruled Thursday against Frank Cobb, who in 2013 sued Minh-Tri Truong, an FBI agent who led the case against him and 41 others charged as part of a 2010 Mon Valley cocaine-trafficking case. Mr. Cobb and his lawyer, Joel Sansone, claimed that Agent Truong and other unnamed agents didn’t have probable cause for a search warrant for Mr. Cobb’s house and misled a federal grand jury into bringing an indictment based merely on his relationships with others in the ring, including his friends and cousins. His complaint said that Agent Truong “maliciously targeted” Mr. Cobb. Mr. Cobb was acquitted in December 2011 on charges of drug conspiracy, operating a drug house and possession of a gun.
