Bills up for debate during this month’s legislative session include a bill that could chart a course toward a public-private Guam Memorial Hospital and another measure that could impact participation in elections. Lawmakers are scheduled to convene session at 10 a.m. Wednesday. As the author of the hospital measure, Sen. Dennis Rodriguez Jr., D-Dededo, is open to exploring the option of having government of Guam surrender at least some operational control of GMH to a private health care organization. New bill could set up path for public-private GMH If enacted, Bill 277-33 would call on the Guam Economic Development Authority to initiate a Request for Information so the health care market could provide input on how to transition the operation of the hospital.
