Former Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell said she declared her 2010 campaign headquarters as her residence to keep herself safe from harassers.
O'Donnell said in a deposition in a Federal Elections Commission lawsuit that she never slept at the Greenville campaign headquarters but wanted would-be harassers to think she did since the townhouse is located behind a guarded gate and watched by an active security service.
The News Journal first reported in March 2010 that O'Donnell was using campaign funds to pay rent at the townhouse at Greenville Place Apartments.
O'Donnell said then she paid half the rent with campaign money because the house doubled as her political headquarters.
