A noticeably subdued Bernie Sanders rallies a Lancaster County university crowdCompared to his electrifying podium performance earlier in the week at Pennsylvania's marquee university, Penn State, Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday struck a noticeably more subdued tone as he addressed a crowd of about 2,800 at Millersville University in Lancaster County. The majority of the people in the crowd were students. Sanders, who typically fires up raucous crowds with his raspy but thunderous voice, spoke in a far more measured tone Friday, although he generated from the crowd the same frenzied applause and cheers that have followed him on the campaign trail in recent months. Sanders arrived in Lancaster County after making stops earlier in the day in Gettysburg and York County. The Vermont Democrat touched upon now-familiar themes of his stump speeches - from the need for fundamental changes in this country, a corrupt Wall Street, a broken criminal justice system, the urgent need to address climate change and put a ban to building any more oil pipelines, among the topics.
