COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say 12 inmates and two other people were injured when a Jeep hit a prisoner transport van in southern Colorado. Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis says those hurt in the Friday morning crash about 50 miles west of Colorado Springs were taken to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries. They include the van's driver and another passenger. No one inside the Jeep was hurt. Lewis says the inmates were headed to the Teller County jail. Investigators are exploring the possibility that weather caused the Jeep to lose control on Highway 24 near Wilkerson Pass.
