Wisconsin financial regulator appoints top banking, securities chiefsWisconsin's financial regulatory agency has named two new top administrators, one to regulate banking and the other to oversee securities. Cheryll Olson-Collins has been appointed administrator of the Division of Banking, while Leslie Van Buskirk has been appointed to the lead position in the Division of Securities, Lon Roberts, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, said Friday. "Leslie and Cheryll both are well respected and possess a wealth of knowledge about their industries," Roberts said in a statement. "I am confident they will do a great job of leading their respective divisions to help keep Wisconsin's financial institutions safe and sound and protect consumers of financial products." Olson-Collins has served at DFI since 2007, most recently as acting administrator of the Division of Banking. She spent more than two decades in the private-sector banking industry before joining DFI. She is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate. She succeeds Mike Mach, who retired last year after more than 44 years with DFI.
