LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — State and local law enforcement officials will be on the lookout for those drinking and driving at recreational areas around Lincoln this summer. The Lincoln Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/1Y4FdtR ) that Nebraska State Patrol troopers, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials will patrol recreational areas in Lancaster County through August. The special enforcement effort will focus on Branched Oak State Recreational Area, Bluestem State Recreational Area, Conestoga Lake, Pawnee Lake, Stagecoach Lake and Wagon Train State Recreational Area. The State Patrol says the efforts will take place primarily on weekends. A $7,700 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety will help pay for the special enforcement effort.
