CARLSBAD — In honor of the centennial of the nation's national parks, the U.S. Postal Service unveiled a new stamp featuring the Carlsbad Caverns. "You'll see Carlsbad Caverns across the country now every time you pay your bills, receive a letter from grandma, or write a letter of support to our overseas troops," said Chief Executive Officer of Carlsbad National Bank Jay Jenkins. "That's pretty amazing." The unveiling ceremony was held on the same day that 15 other National Park Forever Stamps were introduced around the country, including at the World Stamp Show in New York City. The long-awaited stamp was introduced with a small ceremony at the park, which included the presentation of colors by the American Legion Honor Guard and multiple speeches by National Park Service and U.S. Postal Service representatives.
