In new ad, In new ad, Jeb Bush says Cruz and Rubio are ‘all talk’ when it comes to national security
AUSTIN–Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush took aim at two of his rivals in a new ad Thursday, calling out Senators Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Marco Rubio, R-Florida, for talking “tough” but voting against military action in Syria in 2013.
The ad, titled “All Talk,” shows a clip of Cruz at an event on Dec. 5, 2015 vowing to “carpet bomb [ISIS] into oblivion.” And another of Rubio saying he wouldn’t “shed a tear” if “anti-American dictators like Assad” were ousted.
Then the ad shows clips from 2013, when both senators voted against U.S. military action in Syria.
Cruz went on This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sept. 8, 2013 to call military action “a mistake,” and Rubio said at the time that he was “unconvinced that the use of force proposed here will work.”
