CARLSBAD — U.S. President Barack Obama and his family will visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park as part of the National Park Service's Centennial celebrations. Carlsbad Caverns Public Affairs Specialist Valerie Gohlke said the first family is set to arrive on June 17, but did not have details on his itinerary. The Obama family will also visit Yosemite National Park in California during the weekend. “I want to make sure the American people are able to enjoy the incredible national parks, the incredible beauty: the mountains, the oceans that have been one of the greatest gifts that we’ve ever received," the President said in a video promoting the trip posted to the White House's Facebook page. “I want to make sure that the whole world is able to pass on to future generations the God-given beauty of this planet."
