WASHINGTON — Indiana’s senators are likely to split along party lines when the Senate votes tonight on dueling Republican and Democratic proposals to expand background checks for gun buyers and prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms. A spokesman for Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., said he will vote for the measures offered by Republican colleagues after the biggest mass shooting in U.S. history in Orlando, Fla., a week ago. Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., has not said how he plans to vote. But Donnelly voted in December for provisions similar to what Democrats will be offering.
