Dole recalls salad after Listeria outbreak kills 1, sickens several in 6 states
ATLANTA, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Federal health officials have traced an outbreak of Listerosis to a salad product packaged and distributed by Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc., the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday. The outbreak has so far sickened 12 people and killed a person in Michigan, the CDC said in an update to the case Friday. The agency, which said the outbreak was traced to a Dole plant in Springfield, Ohio, has been working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to identify the source of the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria since September. -snip- States affected by the recall:
