In Maryland, Hillary Clinton's fundraising beats Donald Trump's more than 70-to-1Hillary Clinton has raised more than 70 times as much money from Maryland residents as Donald Trump in the race for the presidency, according to Federal Election Commission data released Monday. Marylanders have given $6,092,941 to Clinton's campaign and $85,633 to Trump's. While Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has received more than 25,000 statewide donations, Trump — the presumptive Republican nominee — has yet to reach 300, according to FEC data that covers contributions through May 31. The most recent FEC filing received national attention when it showed Clinton with $42 million in her campaign account while Trump had $1.3 million. Trump did not begin a concerted effort to raise money until last month. He raised $3.1 million nationwide in May — $32,228.93 from Maryland residents — while Clinton raised $28 million nationally and $527,717.52 statewide.
